Psychometric Properties of the spanish translated General Intellectual Humility Scale in a Peruvian sample

Abstract
In the present study, the General Intellectual Humility Scales (GIHS) was translated and its psychometric properties were validated in a Peruvian sample. To do this, 330 participants were recruited and the translated version of the GIHS and the Need for Cognition (NFC) scale were applied. Then, the structural validity of the GIHS was tested with a Confirmatory Factor Analysis for the one-factor model, added to the same model, but with correlated errors, and a five-item model. The fin indices were adequate for the model with correlated errors and the five-item model, added to acceptable reliability values using the McDonald’s Omega. A moderate positive significant correlation was also obtained between the six- and five-item models with the NFC construct. In conclusion, the GIHS is a valid and reliable instrument for use in research.
