Analysis of Mirena IUD in treatment of adenomyosis

Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Mirena IUD in treatment of adenomyosis.Methods 32 cases of patients with adenomyosis admitted in our hospital from June 2010 to March 2013 were selected,Mirena IUD was given to the patients.The improvement of menstrual blood volume and dysmenorrhea was observed before and after the placement of Mirena IUD.Results Menstrual blood volume was reduced obviously after Mirena IUD were placed by 3 months and 6 months.Dysmenorrhea also had been relieved significantly,the difference between before and after the placement was significant(P0.01).Conclusion Mirena IUD can effectively reduce the menstrual blood volume of patients with adenomyosis,and improve the degree of dysmenorrhea,and has no obvious adverse reactions.It is worthy of clinical application.
