Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the factors of success in E-learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our sample is 427 students at public universities in Indonesia. To explain the success of this E-learning, we developed a more comprehensive E-learning evaluation model regarding the characteristics of the system, students, and lecturers. The results of this study indicate that an increase in student performance is associated with an increase in student satisfaction. However, the increase in performance is not related to the use of learning. The use of E-learning is influenced by social and cultural factors. The individual culture and social environment of students encourage students to use E-learning. The lecturer's ability to implement E-learning is proven to affect student satisfaction. The difference of implementation in E-learning compared to face-to-face learning requires different teaching methods and this method will have an impact on student performance. Moreover, E-learning during the Covid-19 pandemic was implemented in all courses.
