This study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of transvaginal sonography (TVS) for adenomyosis using histopathology as the gold standard in 193 infertile women with suspected adenomyosis. Participants underwent TVS and subsequent surgical interventions including dilatation and curettage, with histopathological diagnosis used to compare results. Histopathology confirmed adenomyosis in 162 women (83.9%), while TVS identified adenomyosis in 151 (78.2%); TVS showed sensitivity 90.74%, specificity 87.10%, positive predictive value 97.35%, negative predictive value 64.29%, and overall accuracy 90.16%.
