The experiment included three short video groups corresponding to positive, neutral, and negative emotional categories. Eye-tracking technology was used to capture real-time changes in the elderly's concentration, and an OpenCV-based facial emotion recognition system recorded their facial expressions. Additionally, a scale assessed four indicators: information acceptance, valence, concentration, and usage intention. Results showed that high-intensity emotions like “happy,” “anger,” and “surprised” significantly enhance concentration. However, while valence and addiction do not have a straightforward positive correlation, the bipolarity of valence levels (very high or very low) notably impacts usage intention. This indicates that strong emotions can enhance the concentration of elderly viewers and also increase their intention to use.
