Abstract

Nigeria faces the dual challenge of rising youth unemployment and limited access to global opportunities for capacity development. Business Education has been recognized as a strategic tool for equipping young people with entrepreneurial, managerial, and financial literacy skills necessary for employability and innovation. However, its impact is often constrained by poor curriculum-industry alignment and lack of exposure to global best practices. This paper explores how international scholarships, particularly programs such as Open Doors, Chevening, and DAAD, can complement Business Education in fostering youth empowerment and community development. Drawing on a conceptual review of literature and case illustrations from youth leadership experiences in Taraba State, Nigeria, the study demonstrates that integrating Business Education with scholarship opportunities and leadership platforms can produce globally competent but locally impactful leaders. The findings underscore the need for curriculum reform, increased scholarship awareness, and reintegration programs for returning scholars. The paper concludes that leveraging Business Education and global scholarships can serve as a transformative pathway for youth empowerment and sustainable community development in Nigeria.
