Abstract

As 2022 draws to a close, our recent presentations have focused on the dominant themes of a year that has seen land war in Europe for the first time since 1945, the worst bond market in history, the first new UK monarch in the lifetime of anyone below 70 and the first World Cup held in the Middle East. We’re writing up many of the main discussion points in a series of papers, starting with an overview of how Europe seems ill-equipped, politically, socio-economically or psychologically to deal with the challenges of a new, dangerous geopolitical shift and the related topic of whether or not, inflation must, like all things are supposed to, pass.
