Abstract
Danazol has been extensively utilized in the treatment of endometriosis. The therapeutic effect of this ethisterone derivative is partly attributed to a suppression of gonadotropin secretion. It was the aim of this study to examine whether danazol - similar to other gestagenic compounds - has an impact on the pattern of pulsatile LH secretion and whether opiates are involved in such mechanisms.
