Abstract
Objectives: To establish a reliable database of standard references values during Chinese fetal cerebral ventricular development Design: randomized controlled trial. Setting: The second hospital of Dalian medical university, china, dalian. Population:110 singleton pregnant women were examined. Methods: 110 singleton pregnant women were divided into two groups. Group one consisted of 110 singleton pregnant women of varying gestational ages (GA) in 16-40 weeks; Group two was used as an experimental control, we picked 10 out of the 110 pregnant women to conduct a follow-up study on.Ultrasound was used to measure and establish the reference ranges of the fetal neural system structures specifically: the dimensions of the lateral ventricle, the width of the 3rd ventricle and the dimensions of the 4th ventricle. Measurements of the cavity of septum pellucidum (CSP) and the thalamo-occipital distance (TOD) were taken as well. Main Outcome Measures: reference ranges of the fetal neural system. Results: In group one, a decrease in the FHW was observed as GA increased, while the dimensions of the 3rd ,4th ventricle and the CSP all increased. OHW of the lateral ventricles and TOD were stable during the whole pregnancy. In group two, the data displayed similarities to the overall data, while the TOD values increased with GA, which was different from the data obtained from group one. The FHW showed asymmetry during the pregnancy Conclusions:The data is intended to be used by physicians as a reference range for the development of the Chinese fetal ventricles and aid in the diagnosis of abnormalities
