Abstract

This working paper is a computational companion to Di Domenico and Ryan (2026), Self-as-Protocol: A Proof-of-Work Model of Organismic Integration. It presents a first formal implementation of the self-as-protocol framework as a running simulation model. The implementation demonstrates that the proposed architecture is computationally instantiable, produces the dynamics the theory predicts across five developmental scenarios, and generates novel testable predictions not anticipated by the verbal theory. Robustness, sensitivity, and model comparison analyses are reported. This is a work in progress; the simplifications involved and the agenda for further development are discussed within.
