Green Travel Behavior in Response to Regular Pandemic Prevention and Control
preprint

Abstract
Green travel is essential to the sustainability of environment and transportation and considerably contributes to city decarbonization. The covid-19 pandemic has dramatically transformed the way of travel, yet the hidden factors that drive those changes are still uncertain. This paper develops a model characterizing green travel behavior, beyond which we quantifies the implications of travelers’ psychology to green travel behavior. It was found that travel psychology and driving mechanisms is different before-and-after the pandemic, and that green travel intention is insensitive to personal attitudes and descriptive norms. Likewise, green travel behavior is demonstrated to relate little to intention. Results also reveal that green travel behavior is not affected by the pandemic. Finally, recommendations on green travel policy for different groups of people are proposed. The findings of this study provide some theoretical basis and direction for the formulation of transportation policies during the normalization of pandemic prevention and control and after the end of the pandemic.
