Abstract

Objective To evaluate the expression of Matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-1,-2,-3 and-9 in the peritoneal fluid of different stage of endometriosis(EMs)patients. Methods Peritoneal fluid sampled from female without endometriosis(n=35)and(n=26)patients with endometriosis(18 cases with stageⅠ,Ⅱ;8 cases with stage Ⅲ,Ⅳ)were obtained for quantification of MMP-1,-2,-3,-9 by flexible Multi-Analyte Profiling(xMAP)method. Results The concentration of MMP-1 was 20.84,12.80 and 13.38 ng/ml in stage Ⅲ,Ⅳ group, stageⅠ,Ⅱ group and control group, respectively.,while MMP-2 was 24.39,19.58 and 19.42 ng/ml,respectively,and MMP-3 were 141.65,117.35 and 12.38 ng/ml,respectively.The concentration of MMP-9 was significantly different from that of MMP-1,-2,-3,and was the highest in control group(41.23 ng/ml)and the lowest in stageⅠ,Ⅱ group(23.06 ng/ml),and was 30.85 ng/ml in stage Ⅲ,Ⅳ group. However,no significant difference was revealed in all these markers among the groups.(P0.05)Conclusion MMP-1,-2,-3 and-9 may play a role in the pathogenesis and development of severe endometriosis.
