Abstract

Key Points: 1) The most concerning post-operative complication is haematoma formation leading to airway compromise 2) Despite endorsement from BADS day-case lobectomies are not commonly performed 3) There was no statistically significant relationship between specimen size and total drain output 4) 75% of haematoma in this cohort presented greater than 24 hours post operatively 5) Further work with other centres should be undertaken to investigate further, particularly into patient specific factors affecting post-operative haematoma formation
