We also document the extent at which this life expectancy is affected by malaria indicators, such as the human prevalence, the extrinsic incubation period, or the human infectivity in the area of analysis, among others. Results indicate that depending on the entomological and epidemiological conditions, the average infectious mosquito life expectancy varies significantly. Favorable conditions for mosquitoes to become infectious result in infectious mosquitoes with a remaining lifespan that can be up to 50% longer than the lifespan of infectious mosquitoes originating from adverse malaria transmission conditions.
