Abstract
Objective
To observe the effect of the top 13 Chinese herbal medicines on tumor necrosis factor and vascular endothelial growth factor in patients with endometriosis in the literatures in the last five years.
Methods
108 literatures from Chinese full-text periodical database that treated endometriosis were analyzed, and the common Chinese medicines for endometriosis were summarized. 120 subjects who met the inclusion criteria were selected and randomly divided into an observation group (60 cases) and a control group (60 cases). The observation group was treated with empirical Jingyan Huayu Recipe, while the control group with gestrinone. The changes of serum tumor necrosis factor and vascular endothelial growth factor and the clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups.
Results
After the treatment, the TNF-a and CA-125 were (13.05±5.98) ng/ml and (34.31±21.89) U/ml in the observation group, and were (22.37±9.63) ng/ml and (43.54±20.26) U/ml in the control group (both P<0.05).
Conclusion
Jingyan Huayu Recipe can significantly reduce the serum levels of TNF-αand CA-125 in patients with endometriosis, and is worth being generalized.
