Abstract
Objective To detect the levels change of VEGF and IL-8 in the fluid of the ovarian endometriomata. Methods The VEGF and IL-8 levels in the fluid o f 13 patients with ovarian endometriosis and 12 patients with follicular cysts w ere determined by ELISA. Results ①The level of VEGF and IL-8 in the fluid of the ovarian endometriomata were (82.6±17.4)ng/L and (207.3±33.3)ng/L, which we re significantly higher than those in the control group ((19.4±10.0)ng/L and (8 0.2±11.3)ng/L) (P0.01). ②The level of IL-8 in the fluid of the ovarian endome triomata was negatively correlated with the diameter of the ovarian endometrioma ta masses while the level of VEGF has no correlation with the diameter of the ov arian endometriomata masses (r=-0.594,P0.05). ③The levels of VEGF and IL-8 wer e no significantly correlated with the RAS scores (r=-0.401,P0.05). Conclusion VEGF and IL-8 are important factors that may contribute to the pathegenesis of ovarian endometriosis by promting neovascularization.
