A study of endometrial antigens in fertile controls and patients with endometriosis

Endometrial antigens (EMAg) in endometrium of fertile controls and patients withendometriosis were analysed.It showed that bounds with MW 25,36 and 46 KD in EMAg from fertilecontrols and that with MW 36,48,82,94,110,120 and 140 KD in EMAg with endometriosis were di-rected against serum endometrial antibodies (EMAb) with endometriosis by Western blot analysis.Weused ELISA assay to detect the positivity of serum EMAb,in which the coat antigens was from patientswith endometriosis,and found that it was significantly higher than fertile controls (P0.01).There weredifferences in levels of glycogen,amino acids and microelements in EMAg between fertile controls andpatients with endometriosis.It is suggested that changes of EMAg components may lead to the under-standing of the mechanism of infertility associated with endometriosis.
