Expression and significance of leptin in patients with endometriosis

Abstract
Objective:To explore the relationship between leptin and pathogenesis of endometriosis.Methods:The levels of leptin in ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium from 30 cases with endometriosis and eutopic endometrium from 30 cases without endometriosis were detected by immunohistochemical assay.Results:Leptin expressed in ectopic endometrium and eutopic endometrium from 30 cases with endometriosis and eutopic endometrium from 30 cases without endometriosis,the level of leptin in eutopic endometrium from 30 cases with endometriosis was significantly higher than that from 30 cases without endometriosis(P0.05).Conclusion:Leptin may promote the occurrence and development of endometriosis.
