Abstract

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to report the effect of Kamitongkyung-tang on adenomyosis. Methods : Three women who were diagnosed with adenomyosis were enrolled in this study. They were supposed to have blood aggregation, so received oriental treatments to decrease blood aggregation and promote blood flow. They took Kamitongkyung-tang internally 3 times a day and were taken acupuncture therapy 3 times a week during about 3 months. Results : The most common symptoms of adenomyosis were menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea. After the treatment, symptoms of adenomyosis decreased and ultrasonography showed good results. Conclusion : These clinical cases indicated that Kamitongkyung-tang was effective in the treatment of adenomyosis. More clinical data and studies are needed about the treatment of adenomyosis.
