Abstract
Objective:To study the clinical characteristics,diagnostic highlights and therapeutic methods of intravenous uterine leiomyoma.Methods: The clinical and pathological data of 29 cases with intravenous uterine leiomyoma were collected and analyzed.Results: 15 patients(51.7%) complained of prolonged menstrual duration and menorrhagia.The manifestations of 12 patients(41.4%)were pelvic mass.B-type ultrasound examination showed there were multiple leiomyoma or adenomyosis in all of the cases,but diagnosis was undetermined before operation.16 of 29 cases were made a definite diagnosis by frozen section during operation.The others were made a definite diagnosis by pathologic examination after operation.The total hysterectomy was performed in all cases.Conclusions:Intravenous uterine leiomyoma has a high misdiagnosis rate before operation.Moreover,Intravenous uterine leiomyoma has malignant biological behaviour and special pathological characteristics.The main treatments should be operation and closely follow-up.
