To probe the role of iconography in the diagnose and treatment for ureteral endometriosis

Objective:To investigate the significance of iconography in the procedure of diagnosis and treatment for ureteral endometriosis.Methods:We perform a retrospective analysis of 23 cases of ureteral endometriosis with histopathological results from 2002 to 2011.Results:For the 23 patients,the clinical diagnosis of ureteral endometriosis was made mainly by iconography.The treatments consisted of ureterolysis in 3 cases,ureterocystoneostomy in 6,partial ureteral resection and end-to-end ureteral anastomosis in 12,and endoscopic resection of ureteral endometriosis lesion in 2 of them.All the patients pathologic results were of endometriosis.Conclusion:Ureteral endometriosis is an uncommom disease.Iconography plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of ureteral endometriosis.
