Abstract

Objective: To study the inhibitory effect of alarelin(Ala) sustained-releasing injection on the growth of endometrial explants in rats model of endometriosis and the therapeutical effect on endometriosis. Methods: The model of endometriosis in rats was made by surgically autotransplanting endometrium to the peritoneum and control groups were castration group and non-administered group. And diagnosis criteria of endometriosis depended on typical symptom, node's volume and pain extent and discovery of B ultrasound. All groups were administered alarelin 4 weeks and 12 weeks respectively. Evaluating criteria respectively depended on change of ectopic endometrium volume and alleviation of symptom and improvement of health. Results: The result showed that chronic administration of sustained-releasing injection of alarelin for 4 weeks produced obvious inhibitory effect on the growth of endometrial explants in rats. The inhibitory effect might be equal to that of ovariotomy. And there was alleviation of symptom and improvement of health in patient with endometriosis. At the same time, an obvious depression in serum estradiol level occurred. There were hardly side action seen. Conclusion: There was obvious therapautical effect of sustained-releasing injection of alarelin on endometriosis and there is a good future.
