However, systematic research on the construction of heritage corridors in the Grand Canal region remains limited. Focusing on the Ningbo Section of the Grand Canal of China, the research integrates the agrarian cultural heritage (ACH), maritime fishing cultural heritage (MFCH) and maritime trade cultural heritage (MTCH) in the region, and constructs a spatial pattern of multicultural heritage corridors by GIS spatial analysis and circuit theory. Based on this, the corridor spatial factors are incorporated into the traditional push-pull framework to construct an improved push-pull framework for analyzing the dynamic evolution of cultural heritage and multicultural interactions. The main findings are as follows: (1) ACH, MFCH and MTCH present distinct spatial agglomeration characteristics. (2) The canal routes are highly integrated with the potential multicultural heritage corridors, forming a composite corridor network centered on Ningbo’s “Sanjiangkou”. (3) The improved push-pull framework provides a more robust explanation of the spatial pattern of multicultural heritage corridors, and effectively explains the dynamic evolution of cultural heritage and multicultural interactions. Utilizing GIS spatial analysis and circuit theory, the spatial pattern of multicultural heritage corridors is identified, and the transitions among primary cultural threads in the region is examined with the improved push-pull framework. This approach offers both theoretical innovation and practical guidance for similar heritage cluster conservation planning. Full Text Additional Declarations No competing interests reported.
