Clinical analysis of 220 cases of stage one hysteroscopic surgery

【Objective】To evaluate the clinical application value of one stage hysteroscopic surgery for abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB).【Methods】From June 2007-June 2010 ,220 patients suffered from AUB and on whom hysteroscopic examination was performed. According to the results of corresponding surgery, the resected tissues were sent for pathologic examination. 【Results】There were 220 cases of one stage hysteroscopic surgery, including transcervical resection of polyp 82 cases, transcervical resection of cervical polyp 7 cases, endometrial polyps resection in 82 cases, cervical polyp resection in 7 cases, transcervical resection of myoma 14 cases, transcervical resection of endometrium 22 cases and endometrial biopsy under localizition 90 cases, transcervical removal residual pieces of IUD and transcervical removal of IUD with postmenopausal bleeding. No intraoperative and postoperative complications occurred. The median follow up period was (12 ±3) month. Seven cases of uterine irregular bleeding were recurrence, among them 4 cases combined with uterine fibroids and 1 cases adenomyosis had been hysterectomy. Two cases were operated on again by dilatation and curettage plus endometrial resection, two cases had pregnancy and one case of uterine poply was recurrence. 【Conclusions】For selected cases, one stage hysteroscopic diagnosis and treatment of AUB is simple, safe and feasible.
