Abstract

Objective:To explore the correlation between G/C polymorphism of-173 locus in macrophage migration inhibitory factor(MIF) gene and hereditary susceptibility of endometriosis. Methods:PCR-PFLP technique was used to detect G/C single nucleotide polymorphisms of-173 locus in MIF gene of 49 women of childbearing age with endometriosis(endometriosis group) and 49 women without endometriosis(control group) of Han nationality in Guangdong. Results:In endometriosis group, the distribution frequencies of GG genotype,GC genotype and CC genotype of-173 locus in MIF gene were 53.06%,34.69% and 12.25%,respectively;in control group, the distribution frequencies of GG genotype,GC genotype and CC genotype of-173 locus in MIF gene were 61.23%,32.65% and 6.12%,respectively,there was no significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).The distribution frequencies of G allele and C allele of-173 locus in MIF gene were 70.41% and 29.59% in endometriosis group,77.55% and 22.45% in control group, respectively, there was no significant difference between the two groups(P0.05). Conclusion:G/C polymorphism of-173 locus in MIF gene may be independent of hereditary susceptibility of endometriosis in Han women in Guangdong.
