Abstract

Objective To explore the expression of 6-k-PGF1α in serum and peritoneal fluid in endometriosis and its clinical significance. Methods 42 patients with endometriosis confirmed by pathology and gynecological surgery in our hospital from June 2010 to January 2012 were selected and divided into two groups: early stage group (stage Ⅰ and stage Ⅱ, n = 20) and late stage group (stage Ⅲ and stage Ⅳ, n = 22). In addition, 20 uterus myoma patients with normal endometrium confirmed by pathology at the same period were selected as the control group. The serum and peritoneal fluid of all cases were collected respectively and the 6-k-PGF1α expression in serum and peritoneal fluid were detected by ELISA method. The correlation analysis between 6-k-PGF1α of serum and peritoneal fluid was performed with Pearson analysis. Results ①The 6-k-PGF1α expression in serum and peritoneal fluid in endometriosis increased significantly than control group (P 0.05); ②The 6-k-PGF1α expression in late stage was significantly higher than early stage (P 0.05); ③There was significant positive correlation of 6-k-PGF1α in serum and peritoneal fluid (r = 0.580, P = 0.008). Conclusions The 6-k-PGF1α expression in serum and peritoneal fluid significantly increases in patients with endometriosis, which may be a useful marker for determining the severity of endometriosis.
