Abstract

Objective To observe effectiveness of gonadotropin releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) on pregnancy of infertile patients with endometriosis (EM) after laparoscopic surgery. Methods A total of 65 infertile patients with EM,who had undergone laparoscopic surgery in our hospital during June 2009 and June 2012,were divided into observation group (n = 35) and control group (n = 30) according to the voluntary principle. After laparoscopic surgery, the observation group was treated with GnRH-a for 3 months, while the control group was treated with expectation. The treatment effectiveness and natural pregnancy rate in the two groups were analyzed. Results A 12-month follow-up showed that the complete remission rate and natural pregnancy rate in observation group were higher than those in control group, while the recurrence rate was lower than that in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P0. 05 or P0. 01). Conclusion The GnRH-a application can improve the complete remission and natural pregnancy rates, and reduce the recurrence rate of infertile patients with EM after laparoscopic surgery.
