After administration of danazol, the platelet count of each patient rose and clinical bleeding stopped. We have had a similar experience with one patient.During 1985 we treated seven patients with myelodysplastic syndromes with danazol, 600 mg/d, for 2 to 4 months. Hemoglobin levels were 5 to 10.1 g/dL, leukocyte counts were 1500 to 6400/mm3, and platelet counts were 14 000 to 132 000/mm3.
