TÉCNICAS DE TRATAMENTO DO COTO APENDICULAR NAS APENDICECTOMIAS LAPAROSCÓPICAS EM PACIENTE COM ENDOMETRIOSE PROFUNDA COM DOENÇA CONCOMITANTE NO APÊNDICE CECAL
This retrospective study analyzed 44 patients undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy concurrently with surgery for deep infiltrating endometriosis, where the appendix was affected by adherence, invasion, or endometriomas. The researchers compared four different techniques for closing the appendiceal stump: intracorporeal suturing, metal clips, Hem-o-lok clips, and mechanical stapling. The results indicated that no surgical complications were associated with any of the employed closure methods, suggesting all four approaches are safe and reliable while also enhancing surgical manual skills. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically addressing the management of concomitant appendiceal disease during laparoscopic excision of deep infiltrating lesions.
