Abstract
Materials and methods: A total of 5053 individual sperm cells from 4 teratozoospermic patients were analysed using a new multiparametric cell scanning system (DuetTM BioView Ltd, Rehovot, Israel). Sperm cells were stained by eosin-nigrosin and scanned automatically in a brighteld for morphology of live cells (according to Kruger criteria). Coordinates and images of the identied sperm cells were digitally stored. Fluorescent in-situ hybridization (FISH), using centromeric probes for chromosome X, Y, and 18, was performed on the same slide after di-staining. Sperm cells were automatically scanned and classied according to the ploidy of the chromosomes. Both morphology and ploidy of each cell were determined based on pairs of corresponding brighteld and uorescent images.
