Abstract

Objective To observe the change of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and microvessel density(MVD) after ginsenoside Rg3 treated endometriosis models of rats,Further observation the therapeutic effect of drugs. Methods The endometriosis model was established in Wistar rats and the model rat s were divided into 3 groups that were treated with normal saline(control),ginsenoside Rg3 and gestrinone,20 rats in every group.respectively After 8 weeks of treatment, ectopic endometrium grafts were examined for the volume and histomorphology The expression of VEGF was observed by ELISA and MVD was determined by immunostaining for CD31.Results The volume of grafts in all treatment groups was significantly reduced in comparison with that in the control group P0.05,VEGF expression in serum and MVD in tissue were lower than the control group,P0.05.Ginsenoside Rg3 group is obvious.8 weeks after drug withdrawal,The volume of grafts in all treatment group further declines in comparison with that in the control group,P0.05.Serum levels of VEGF,MVD counts of Ginsenoside Rg3 were lower than the other two groups,P0.05.VEGF expression in serum and the number of MVD in tissue were lower than the control group,P0.05.Conclusion Treating endometriosis,Ginsenoside Rg3 have significantly inhibiting angiogenesis, and can strongly inhibited ectopic lesions, reduce the recurrence rate.
