The Expression and Significance of Fas in Eutopic Endometrium of Endometriosis

[Objective]To detect the expression of Fas in eutopic endometrium of endometriosis in order to explore the pathogenesis of endometriosis.[Methods]Immunohistochemical Strept Avidin Biotin Complex(SABC) methods was used to examine the expression of Fas in eutopic endometrium from 35 cases with endometriosis and to compare with 20 cases of normal endometrium.[Results]The expression of Fas was significantly decreased in eutopic endometrium of endometriosis than in endometrium of the control group.The expression of Fas had circle variation in menstrual circle in control group.But in the endometriosis group the expression of Fas had no circle variation, while the expression of Fas in secretory phase of endometriosis was significantly lower than that of the control group.[Conclusion]Fas takes part in the adjustment of the menstrual circle.The lower expression of Fas in the secretory phase may play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
