Abstract

The efficacy and acceptability of levonorgestrel releasing intrauterine system using combined transdermal application of 17β-estradiol in cyclic and continuous regimens in periand postmenopausal women with genital endometriosis are resulted in the article. There are an expediency of different HRT scheme's using in periand postmenopause, considering the anamnesis, concomitant gynecological and extra gynecological diseases and main side-effects of the treatment are discussed. We analyzed the dynamics of genital endometriosis and climacteric symptoms during the treatment with intrauterine system Mirena combined the minimal doses of estrogens and showed the advantages of the method. Adaptation of levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system is an effective and save component of hormone replacement therapy in women with genital endometriosis. The long antiproliferative effect of the system on endometrium allows the employment of estrogens in minimal doses during the short period in order to eliminate the disease's relapse and to treat the climacteric symptoms.
