Correlation between the expressions of TNF-α and IL-6 and endometriosis-related infertility

Objective:To evaluate the correlation between TNF-α and IL-6 levels in peritoneal fluid and infertility in patients with endometriosis combined with infertility.Methods:60 patients with infertility or pelvic pain were selected,including 40 patients with endometriosis combined with infertility and 20 patients(with the history of successful birth) with endometriosis combined with pelvic pain.The peritoneal fluid was aspirated before laparoscopic surgery,ELISA was used to detect the levels of TNF-α and IL-6,the correlation between TNF-α,IL-6 and infertility induced by endometriosis was analyzed statistically.Results:There was no correlation between TNF-α and IL-6 levels and rAFS stages of endometriosis.However,the levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in infertile patients with endometriosis were significantly higher than those in patients with simple pelvic pain(P0.05),TNF-α and IL-6 might play certain roles in the pathogenesis of infertility induced by endometriosis.Conclusion:TNF-α and IL-6 in peritoneal fluid may participate in the pathogenesis of endometriosis-related infertility.
