Abstract

Objective To investigate the manifestation of multi-slice spiral computed tomography (MSCT) on ovarian endometriosis cycsts, and to improve diagnostic accuracy of CT. Methods The MSCT manifestation and clinical data of 20 patients with ovarian endometriosis cysts who were diagnosed and treated in Shanxi Provincial People’s Hospital from January 2016 to January 2018 were retrospectively studied and compared with their surgery outcome and pathological results to analyze the reason of misdiagnosis. Results Among the 20 patients, within 27 lesions totally, 13 patients had unilateral lesion, and 7 patients had bilateral lesions. Manifestation of MSCT: ①the density is varied from water sample to fresh blood sample; ② irregular peripheral outer edge, smoothing inner edge, but no obvious mural nodules; ③small cycts (satellites style) outside the main cycsts is the characteristic; ④cystic wall enhanced from light to moderate evenly; ⑤adhesion to surrounding tissue to varying degrees. Conclusions The MSCT manifestation of ovarian endometriosis cysts has certain characteristics. Understanding clinical data and medical history is conducive to locate lesion and qualitative diagnosis accurately prior to surgery. Key words: Ovarian; Endometriosis; Cyst; Computed tomography
