Endometriosis: a global health issue

An often neglected or overlooked issue, endometriosis affects a large segment of the global female population, resulting not only in morbidity of varying extent, but also contributing to infertility. This editorial raises awareness about the issue and emphasizes the roles of public awareness campaigns supported by modern medical and gynaecological aids to diagnosis and treatment. The authors declared no conflict of interest. All authors contributed substantially to the selection of topic, literature search, and write-up of the editorial, and agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work.
