Abstract

In this study, the complete chloroplast (cp) genomes of Punica granatum var. pleniflora were determined. The full-length P. granatum var. pleniflora cp genome was 158,655 bp, including a large single-copy(LSC) region of 89,037 bp, a small single-copy(SSC) region of 18,686 bp, and a pair of inverted repeats(IR) of 25,466 bp. A total of 112 genes, including 78 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes were predicted by the analyses. Furthermore, the overall GC content of the complete cp genome was 36.90%. Phylogenetic analysis further suggested that P. granatum var. pleniflora was closely related to Punica granatum Linn, with high bootstrap values.
