Abstract
Objective:To detect the differentially expressed proteins in serum of patients with endometriosis. Methods:Surface enhanced laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry(SELDI-TOF-MS)WCX_2 Proteinchip technology was used to detect the differentially expressed proteins for endometrosis.Serum samples from 50 patients with ovarian chocolate cyst and 48 controls were studied.Results:106 protein peaks were detected in Mr 0~50000.Four differentially expressed proteins were detected in sera of endometriosis patients. In Swiss-Prot database,we found Mr 9280 protein peak accord with Vitronectin.Vitronectin belonged to integrin family, and it had an important role on adhension, invasion and vasoformation of endometriosis. There were no proteins accordant with the other protein peaks,so maybe they were new proteins. Conclusions:Differentially expressed proteins are found in serum of patients with endometriosis, which have a determinate clinical significance for the early diagnosis of endometriosis.SELDI-TOF MS Protein chip technology is a quick, easy and practical, less sample quantity, high throughput, good repeatability analytic method, and it has a wide clinical prospect.
