Abstract

In order to establish relationship between juvenile dysmenorrhea and connective tissue dysplasia (CTD) in girls aged of 13-17 years, we studied the content of free hydroxyproline in daily urine. The level of hydroxyproline in urine secretion in girls with juvenile dysmenorrhea was significantly higher than in healthy women, more pronounced in presence of CTD. A strong direct correlation between the content of hydroxyproline in urine and severity of dysmenorrhea in women with CTD was revealed. Hydroxyprolinuria indicates an increase in the rate of decay of collagen in the body that should be considered when diagnosing and treating this disease and prevent recurrence and reproductive dysfunction.
