This article reports on 122 patients with endometriosis managed conservatively using CO2 laser either in open surgery (44 patients, moderate to extensive disease) or via CO2 laser videolaparoscopy with video-camera augmentation (78 patients, mild to extensive disease). Within 5–6 months after surgery, pregnancy occurred in 53.1% of the open-surgery group and 42.8% of the videolaparoscopy group, while pelvic pain was relieved in 92.2% (35/38) versus 88.8% (48/54) of those who reported pain. The authors report statistical analysis showing both procedures as equally efficacious.
