Entre mujeres que sufrían endometriosis se operaron 122 así: 44 con cirugía conservadora y láser de CO2, en quienes la severidad de la enfermedad iba de moderada a extensa y 78 con videolaparoscopia láser de CO2 cuyas lesiones variaban de mínimas a extensas. En el primer grupo se embarazaron 23 (53.1%) y en el segundo 35 (42.8%). El tiempo promedio de embarazo post cirugía osciló entre 5 y 6 meses, respectivamente; 38 señoras del primer grupo y 54 del segundo se quejaban de dismenorrea; se observó una franca mejoría después de la intervención en 35 (92.2%) y 48 (88.8%) casos, respectivamente. El estudio estadístico para los dos procedimientos demostró que ambos tienen una efectividad igual en el manejo de la endometriosis.

This article reviews the cases of 122 endometriosis patients, 44 of whom (with disease severity ranging from moderate to extensive) were treated with conservative surgery and the CO2 laser, and 78 of whom (with disease severity ranging from mild to extensive) were treated using the CO2 laparoscope with video camera augmentation (video-laser copy). Twenty-three (53.1%) women in the first group and 35 (42.8%) in the second group became pregnant within 5-6 months of surgery.
