The expression and significance of the tissue inhibitor of c-fos in endometriosis

Objective: To explore the role of c-fos in the the development of endometriosis.Methods: Twenty-six specimens of endometrium from reproductive women without endometriosis were obtained as the control group.Twenty-seven specimens of ectopic endometrium tissues and eutopic endometrium tissues were collected.The expressions of c-fos were detected respectively by immunohistochemical streptavidin-biotin peroxidase(S-P) method.Results: c-fos was expressed mainly in the nuclei in normal endometrium and ectopic endometrium and ectopic glandular epithelium.Both of the expressions of c-fos in ectopic and eutopic endometrium in EMT group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P0.05).While there had no significant difference in the expression of c-fos between the ectopic and eutopic endometrium tissues in EMT group(P0.05).The expressions of c-fos had periodic changes both in normal endometrium and in endometrium from EMT group.And the expression was significantly higher in hyperplasia period than in secretory period(P0.05).Conclusion: The c-fos expression may play an important role in the regulation of the occurrence and development of EMT.
