Abstract

AIM:To study the curative effect and feasibility of percutaneous microwave coagulation therapy (PMCT) for adenomyosis. METHODS: Thirty-seven patients with adenomyosis treated by PMCT were observed with regard to dysmenorrhoea, menstruation and hemoglobin (Hgb) before and 1, 3 and 6 months after PMCT treatment. The curative effect was evaluated statiscically. RESULTS: There were significant differences in the above parameters before and after the treatment. The patients' menstrual time and blood volume were significantly ameliorated in the 1st month after the treatment; the patients' ache get significantly relieved in the 3rd month; the patients' Hgb was significantly improved in the 6th month. CONCLUSION: PMCT is safe, effective and of less side-effect in the treatment of adeno-myosis.
