Abstract
Objective:Aim To probe into the relationship between MMP-9,E-cadherin expression and invasion, mestastasis of ovarian serous tumors. Methods:The expressions of MMP-9 and E-cadherin Gene Protein in 45 cases with ovarian serous tumors were detected quantitatively by Flow Cytometry(FCM).Results:Expression of MMP-9 protein found in ovarian serous carcinomas is significantly more than that in ovarian serous cystadenomas(P0.05)but expression of E-cadherin protein's is significantly less than that in ovarian serous cystadenomas(P0.05).It can be stated that expression of MMP-9 and E-cadherin were correlated with histological grade and clinical stage(P0.05).In 23 cases of ovarian serous carcinomas, the FI of MMP-9 protein was significantly correlated inversely with that of E-cadherin(r=0.89,P=0.020.05).Conclusion:The high level of MMP-9 and the low level of E-cadherin may be linked with ovarian serous tumor invasion and mestastasis, the expression of MMP-9 protein was significantly correlated inversely with that of E-cadherin.The expressions of MMP-9 and E-cadherin may be a indication of invasion and metastasis and a strong predictor of poor survival.
