Abstract
Chronic pelvic pain in women is a recurring clinical challenge in gynecological practice, characterized by persistent symptoms whose origin is often unclear using conventional diagnostic methods. Given this scenario, this study aimed to gather up-to-date evidence on the use of laparoscopy as a complementary tool in the diagnosis and treatment of these cases, with an emphasis on its clinical applicability. The literature review was conducted between June and July 2025, with consultations in the PubMed, BVS, and SciELO databases. A structured search strategy was used using controlled descriptors and Boolean operators, selecting publications published between 2013 and 2025 that addressed laparoscopy in the context of chronic pelvic pain in women. Inclusion criteria prioritized studies with a clinical or surgical approach, using different methodological designs. Data analysis indicated that videolaparoscopy has contributed significantly to the detection of alterations not visualized by imaging, such as adhesions, endometriosis, and pelvic inflammatory processes. In addition to its diagnostic value, the procedure allows for immediate intervention, with positive effects on pain relief and functional recovery. It is concluded that laparoscopy represents a strategic approach in selected cases of chronic pelvic pain, and its indication should be based on clear clinical criteria, combining therapeutic efficacy with diagnostic accuracy in a single, minimally invasive procedure.
