Abstract

While inclusive recovery and sustainable development is a key concern of the post-COVID-19 era, this cannot be done without proper public awareness that supports such institutional level effort. For the public awareness towards inclusive policy, Global Citizenship Education (GCED) needs further attention. While the importance of Global Citizenship is emphasized and embodied in the monitoring system by international organizations, the implementation of GCED in Korea seems to fall short of its international expectations, according to UNESCO’s 2020 report. It is time we revisit and reinforce the current GCED system, both in formal education sector and in lifelong learning programs.
