Abstract

There is a lack of comprehensive synthesis of the evidence regarding the conservative treatment of endometriosis-associated pain (EAP). Existing literature reviews are narrow or often focused on specific treatments or subsets of interventions and their specific outcomes (Hansen, Sverrisdóttir and Rudnicki, 2021; Tennfjord, Gabrielsen and Tellum, 2021; Wójcik, Szczepaniak and Placek, 2022). Given the chronic nature and the significant burden of EAP, it is crucial to map the existing evidence to identify gaps in current research, address areas needing further research, guide clinical decision-making and policymakers. To our knowledge, there is no published or ongoing scoping review which maps out the evidence available from current literature on the conservative treatment of EAP. Therefore, the aim of this scoping review is to identify and map the evidence for conservative treatment of EAP.
