Women s experience of living with endometriosis - a literature study
This literature study employed qualitative content analysis to examine women’s experiences of living with endometriosis, a condition affecting approximately one in ten women of fertile age. The findings indicate that the disease negatively impacts all aspects of life, characterized by severe physical symptoms, difficult daily routines, strained family relationships, and predominantly negative interactions with healthcare providers. The authors conclude that there is a critical need for increased knowledge among care personnel to improve treatment outcomes and reduce patient suffering caused by diagnostic delays. This paper is centrally about endometriosis — specifically focusing on the qualitative lived experience and healthcare challenges faced by women diagnosed with the condition.
