Abstract

This study proposes a new technique, based on Weierstrass’ polynomial approximation to determine the source location of chemical contaminants and their concentration in groundwater. Validation of the technique with a previous study showed that its results were almost identical (0.2 percent difference). The technique was also validated with field data on groundwater physico-chemical parameters, including pH, Sulphate, Nitrate, Fluoride, and Potassium, which were approximated, respectively, with 6%, 3%, 8%, 10% and 25% error.
