Zusammenfassung Das Kapitel fokussiert auf komplementärmedizinischen Maßnahmen bei Endometriose und beim polyzystischen Ovarialsyndrom (PCOS). Es vermittelt praxisrelevante Inhalte für die Auswahl geeigneter Therapieoptionen und die Stärkung eigener Ressourcen der Patientinnen. Beide Erkrankungen können sensible Phasen im Leben der betroffenen Frauen stark beeinflussen; ihr Wunsch ist groß, komplementärmedizinische Verfahren in den Therapieplan zu integrieren, eine aktive Rolle in ihrem Leben mit der Erkrankung einzunehmen und seriöse Behandlungsverfahren zu finden. Komplementärmedizinische Methoden bei Endometriose beziehen sich v. a. auf das Nebenwirkungsmanagement der endokrinen Therapien, die Dysmenorrhö und die Verbesserung der Komorbiditäten wie Fatigue-Syndrom und Reizdarmsymptomatik, während beim PCOS eher die Unterstützung bei der Umsetzung einer geeigneten Lebensstiländerung zur Verringerung der Symptome, aber auch die Verhinderung von Langzeitfolgen wie eine diabetogene Stoffwechsellage angestrebt wird.
