Spatial pattern of the grain production in Yunnan Province

Abstract

Abstract Agriculture is the foundation of the national economy, and grain is the foundation of the agriculture. This paper taking the counties of Yunnan Province as the research space, selecting the grain output from 1990 to 2024 as the research indicators, using the methods of Gini coefficient, standard deviational ellipse, spatial autocorrelation and spatial regression to analyze the evolution of the spatial pattern of grain production in Yunnan Province and its influencing factors. The results showed that: The trend of concentrated distribution of grain production in the counties of Yunnan Province continued to increase, and the grain production center shifted to the northeastern Yunnan. There was a significant global spatial correlation in grain production, with high-yield areas in eastern Yunnan and low-yield areas in northwestern Yunnan. Hot Spot agglomeration areas of grain production are mainly distributed in eastern Yunnan and spread to northeastern Yunnan, Cold Spot agglomeration areas are distributed in northwestern and central Yunnan, and the effect of Cold Spot agglomeration in central Yunnan is significantly enhanced. The grain production of some counties in central, eastern and southern Yunnan is spatially discrete. Differences in primary industry, number of rural employees, grain sown area, land area and average annual temperature are the main factors affecting the changes in the spatial pattern of grain production in Yunnan province.
